Whilst shooting our scene, our group as a whole made a few mistakes.
From these mistakes we learnt to appreciate some key elements of film making.
Match on action is a technique used by film makers. This technique is used to connect two shots of the same action, the first shot tends to consists of an actor starting an action, and the second shot tends to consists of the character finishing off an action
During filming we failed to execute our match on action shot correctly. As you can see from the gif below the actor initially opened the door with his left hand, but in the second shot he opens the door with his right hand.
By doing this we failed to tell our story in a logical manner, ergo; a sense of continuity was absent from our scene.
We also failed to enhance the colour of our motion picture, resulting in our
film looking rather plain and simplistic to the eye. We could have resolved
this problem by doing a number of things.
For example, we could
have manipulated the light source. Or we could have used colour grading in the
editing process, which involves manipulating the saturation of our motion
picture in order to achieve a much more enhanced, professional looking image.
